Alzheimer’s disease is treatable. In my practice I have discovered the best treatment involves the holistic assessment of the person with dementia, empowering this person in care, and creating a balance to assist this individual to navigate their social and physical environment. I have also discovered that the person’s environment is not only instrumental, but critical in maintaining the person’s independence.
